Tom Brady thrilled to join Aces ownership group

Tom Brady makes an exciting announcement, revealing his minority ownership position within the Las Vegas Aces team.

HENDERSON, Nev. — The ownership bid of retired quarterback Tom Brady to acquire a stake in the Las Vegas Aces has been officially approved by the WNBA’s owners.

On March 23, Brady and the Aces issued an announcement regarding his purchase of a minority share in the club, however, no specific details were provided. The approval from the league was expected, given the statement made by WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert who praised the acquisition.

With the start of the best-of-five series against the New York Liberty approaching, Las Vegas aims to defend their league championship.

Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis serves as the majority owner of the Aces.

Brady, renowned for his six Super Bowl victories with the New England Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, attended an Aces game on May 31, 2022, and later sent gifts including a jersey to Las Vegas star Kelsey Plum.

“I am incredibly thrilled to be part of the Las Vegas Aces organization,” expressed Brady in his original statement during the initial announcement. “My passion for women’s sports developed during my younger years watching my older sisters play. They were undoubtedly the best athletes in our household! As a family, we celebrated their achievements and they continue to inspire me.

“I have always been an avid supporter of women’s sports and I deeply admire the diligent efforts put forth by the Aces’ players, staff, and the WNBA as a whole to foster the growth of the sport and empower future generations of athletes. To have the opportunity to contribute in any capacity towards that mission as a member of the Aces organization is an incredible honor.”
