In just two preseason games, Victor Wembanyama has already exceeded the hype surrounding him. The Spurs player delivered a remarkable performance, scoring 23 points on a 10-of-15 shooting, along with four rebounds, four assists, and three blocks, all in just 22 minutes of play against the Heat.

There were a couple of standout plays during the game. One particular instance showcased Wembanyama’s exceptional speed as he sprinted up and down the court like a guard, resulting in an impressive dunk after receiving a pass from Jeremy Sochan. In another memorable moment, Wembanyama proved his defensive prowess by blocking an open baseline jumper.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich revealed that Wembanyama’s impressive scoring was achieved with just one play called for him throughout the night. Additionally, Wembanyama’s versatility was evident as he played at center, unlike his first game against the Thunder. The Spurs also made an interesting lineup adjustment by utilizing the 6’9″ Sochan as the point guard at the start of the game.

Devin Vassell was another notable contributor for the Spurs, scoring 21 points, with two of his 3-pointers assisted by Wembanyama. Despite some skepticism surrounding Vassell’s $135 million extension, viewers who tuned in to watch Wembanyama will recognize his talent this season.
