Aces bring the party to the postgame news conference
A’ja Wilson tries to answer a question while her teammates bring the party to the news conference after clinching their second consecutive WNBA championship.
Their celebration didn’t stop on the court; it extended to the postgame news conference. Kelsey Plum, in her customary fashion, played music loudly through a speaker while A’ja Wilson attempted to answer questions.
The Finals MVP almost gave in to the music but not before inviting Usher, the halftime performer of Super Bowl LVIII, to join in the festivities. Usher, who currently has a residency in Las Vegas, was honored with “Usher Raymond Day” by the city on October 17.
Wilson even posted a reminder on social media to ensure Usher saw the invitation.
Although Usher couldn’t make it to the parade, he responded with a video congratulating the Aces and extending an invitation of his own.
In his video message, Usher said, “A’ja Wilson, I received your message. Congratulations! Although I couldn’t be at the parade, I wanted to invite you to come see me perform ‘My Way’ in Vegas.”
Wilson was overjoyed by Usher’s response, but Sydney Colson is still seeking clarification on the number of tickets offered by the Grammy Award-winning artist.
According to Wilson, Colson’s contributions in Game 4 might not be sufficient for consideration.
Although Usher didn’t provide a specific date, he has scheduled two shows in October at the Park MGM and ten shows throughout November.
