The Vegas Golden Knights celebrated their victory in the 2023 Stanley Cup by unveiling their championship rings, an event that was filled with symbolism and surprises.
The Stanley Cup-winning Golden Knights held their much-anticipated ring ceremony at the elegant Wynn Las Vegas. The players, coaches, and hockey operations staff were thrilled to receive their well-deserved championship rings.
Created in collaboration with the renowned jeweler, Jason of Beverly Hills, who is known for designing exquisite championship rings for various professional sports teams, including the NBA’s Golden State Warriors and the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces, the Golden Knights’ rings are truly unique and breathtaking.
“I had full confidence in Jason of Beverly Hills that they would create a ring as extraordinary as our city and as remarkable as the season our team had,” said Golden Knights owner Bill Foley. “They have surpassed all expectations and delivered a design that I am certain our players, staff, and fans will cherish.”
Embodying the spirit of Las Vegas, the rings feature an abundance of dazzling diamonds and extravagant details. They boast a detachable top that can be worn as a pendant, with the words “It’s Knight Time” inscribed on the back. Removing the top reveals a stunning replica of the team’s home rink, T-Mobile Arena, with the center ice logo exactly as it appeared during the 2023 Stanley Cup Final. Additionally, small stars mark the locations of each of the nine goals that secured their victory in Game 5 against the Florida Panthers.
Remarkably, the rings are adorned with approximately 12 carats of white and yellow diamonds. The primary logo of the Knights is decorated with 67 white diamonds, symbolizing their total wins throughout the regular season and playoffs. Furthermore, the inner bezel features 32 diamonds, representing each of the NHL’s 32 teams. To pay tribute to the team’s 54 all-time playoff victories, the Stanley Cup on the ring is accentuated with 0.54 carats of diamonds.
The side of the ring showcases six stones arranged in the shape of a star. This design pays homage to the team’s “Vegas Strong” banner displayed after the tragic events of the Route 91 Harvest music festival shooting in 2017. The Golden Knights have consistently honored the victims and first responders since that fateful day.
Both sides of the ring proudly exhibit the team slogans “Vegas Born” and “Always Advance.” The iconic Las Vegas skyline is also meticulously depicted on the ring.
The inner band of the ring features yet another team slogan: “Cup in Six.” This phrase refers to the bold prediction made by Bill Foley before the Golden Knights even played their first game. Against all odds, the team achieved this goal by winning the Stanley Cup in just six seasons.
In addition to the rings for the team members, the Golden Knights are producing 50 rings for the public. These rings are nearly identical to those presented to the players and will be available for purchase at $75,000 each.
The celebration of the Golden Knights’ victory continues as they raise their 2023 Stanley Cup championship banner at the upcoming game against the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday, which will be broadcast on ESPN and ESPN+.
