Tiger Woods expresses his delightful surprise after a successful comeback to action, shooting a one-under-par 71 in the third round at the Hero World Challenge.

Returning for the first time since withdrawing from the Masters in April due to injury, the 15-time major champion is now tied for 16th in the 20-man field in the Bahamas.

Woods, 47, made an impressive recovery, stating, “I’m very pleasantly surprised at how I’ve recovered every day. I still have the game; it’s whether the body can do it or not.”

Meanwhile, his compatriot Scottie Scheffler leads with a three-shot advantage over England’s Matt Fitzpatrick.

Despite a challenging round with two bogeys, Woods managed to secure birdies, showing glimpses of his remarkable skill on the course.

Woods, who had fusion surgery on a bone in his ankle following a car crash in 2021, remains hopeful about his future in the sport.

Having completed the event, Woods is optimistic about potential tourneys in the future, aiming to determine his schedule for the upcoming season.
