Arsenal vs Newcastle United: Team News and Lineups

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made strategic changes to his side for tonight’s highly anticipated game against Newcastle United. These alterations aim to boost the team’s performance and secure a victory.

The most significant news is the absence of skipper Martin Odegaard from the matchday squad. Unfortunately, Odegaard is not fit enough to participate in the game, marking the first time he misses a match since September 2022 against Brentford. Kai Havertz will step in and showcase his skills in Odegaard’s place. In addition, Jorginho will wear the captain’s armband once again, leading the team with his experience and leadership.

Several other players are returning to the lineup after sitting out the recent defeat to West Ham United. Goalkeeper David Raya will stand tall in front of the net, while Bukayo Saka, William Saliba, Gabriel Martinelli, and Takehiro Tomiyasu also make a comeback.

Furthermore, this game holds special significance for two Arsenal players. Ben White will make his 100th appearance for the club, highlighting his commitment and dedication. Eddie Nketiah will also reach a milestone, stepping onto the Premier League field for the 100th time.

On the other side, Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has decided to field the same team that drew 2-2 against Wolves in their previous league match. This lineup includes Sean Longstaff, Joelinton, and Anthony Gordon, who started earlier this week, along with former Gunner Joe Willock on the bench.

Here are the confirmed lineups:

Newcastle: Pope, Tripper, Schar, Lascelles, Burn, Longstaff, Guimaraes, Joelinton, Almiron, Gordon, Wilson.
Subs: Dubravka, Dummett, Krafth, Livramento, Hall, Murphy, Ritchie, Miley, Willock.
Arsenal: Raya, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tomiyasu, Jorginho, Rice, Havertz, Saka, Martinelli, Nketiah.
Subs: Ramsdale, Hein, Cedric, Kiwior, Zinchenko, Elneny, Vieira, Nelson, Trossard
