The St. Anthony Saints will conclude their regular season this Friday night at Clark Field, hosting their Del Rey League rivals La Salle for a 7 p.m. kickoff.

St. Anthony is currently on a winning streak with four consecutive victories, aiming to maintain a perfect 4-0 league record. A win in this game would give the Saints an impressive 8-2 record before their upcoming bye week, as they prepare for the playoffs in November. This would mark the most wins for the Saints in a regular season since 2017.

The success of St. Anthony this year can be attributed to their strong running game and solid defense during league matches. The Purple People Eaters have limited their opponents to no more than two scores in their four-game winning streak, with an average of under nine points against them per game.

The visiting Lancers arrive at the game with an even .500 record, 4-4 overall and 1-1 in the league. Interestingly, they have performed better on the road, securing a 3-1 record away from home. They defeated the Saints 28-7 in their previous encounter last year. However, this year’s St. Anthony team is significantly different, and the Lancers will face a tough challenge.

RB David Vanden Bosch serves as the primary force behind the Lancers’ offense, having carried the ball 171 times in eight games, accumulating an impressive 840 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. Senior QB Zachary Lifton has also played a significant role, throwing for 1,800 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, although he has also thrown 11 interceptions. His favorite targets are Aidan Leyland (29 catches, 626 yards, 5 touchdowns) and Mauricio Pavon (40 catches, 519 yards, 6 touchdowns).

St. Anthony enters the game on a high note after a convincing 37-7 victory against St. Genevieve last week, outscoring their opponents by a combined margin of 88-21 in their last two games.
