Robinson’s promotion casts doubt on Greenlaw’s status vs. Browns
CLEVELAND – The San Francisco 49ers have made some roster moves ahead of their Week 6 match against the Cleveland Browns. Linebacker Curtis Robinson has been promoted from the practice squad, indicating that starting linebacker Dre Greenlaw’s availability for the game might be uncertain. Additionally, cornerback Shemar Jean-Charles has been elevated from the practice squad for the second time this season.
Greenlaw is currently listed as questionable for the game after sustaining a hamstring injury during a Thursday walk-through practice. On Friday, 49ers head coach Shanahan mentioned that the team would prioritize Greenlaw’s safety and make a decision based on his condition. Greenlaw ranks second on the team in tackles, just behind Fred Warner.
The team is confident in the newly acquired defensive end Randy Gregory, who is expected to make his debut with the 49ers. Gregory was acquired by the 49ers in a trade with the Denver Broncos last week. Shanahan expressed his excitement to see Gregory fit in well with the team and quickly adapt to their defensive scheme.
