Oct. 14—The Colorado men’s basketball team is set to add another talented player to their roster with a new commitment from local standout Andrew Crawford. The ThunderRidge combo guard has verbally committed to play for coach Tad Boyle’s program. This marks the second commitment for the Buffs’ 2024 class, following a recent pledge from Doryan Onwuchekwa.
Andrew Crawford, a 6-foot-6 native of Littleton, is highly regarded as a four-star prospect by 247Sports. Not only is he considered the top prospect in Colorado, but he also holds a national ranking of No. 87.
According to the ThunderRidge MaxPreps page, Crawford’s impressive stats from last year include averaging 19.7 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 6.3 assists. He maintained a shooting percentage of 47 percent from the field.
Coach Tad Boyle has consistently prioritized recruiting top in-state talents. Throughout his 14 seasons at CU, he has successfully brought promising players from Colorado to Boulder. Some notable former Buffs scholarship players include Josh Scott, Wesley Gordon, Xavier Talton, Dominique Collier, Derrick White, Dallas Walton, and D’Shawn Schwartz. Additionally, there were players like Daylen Kountz and Nique Clifford who transferred out of the program after several seasons. Current Buffs Luke O’Brien, Julian Hammond III, and Assane Diop are also products of Boyle’s recruitment efforts.
In other recruiting news, 6-foot-3 guard Trent Perry, who visited the Buffs last month, announced his commitment to USC on Friday.
