RCB’s Mitchell Marsh praises Cameron Green as an exceptional new addition to the team

Renowned as a “special talent” by Mitchell Marsh, Cameron Green shares a close relationship with the all-rounder. Both players compete for the same spot in the playing XI across various formats.

During the third Test of the 2023 Ashes, Marsh made a remarkable comeback with a decisive run-a-ball score of 118. Seizing the opportunity due to Green’s injury, Marsh continued to perform well, accumulating 441 runs during Australia’s 2023 ODI World Cup campaign.

At 24, Green’s 2023 participation has been limited, having played only three World Cup games. Currently representing Western Australia in Sheffield Shield, he is set to take part in a four-day practice match against Pakistan.

Meanwhile, after a busy few months, Marsh has opted to take a break.

According to Marsh, “Cameron’s a special talent. We’ve got a great relationship. We’re super close on and off the field. I always joke that there’s probably not a lot I can teach him on the cricket field, but he knows I’m always there for him and hopefully we can play a lot of cricket together,” while speaking to reporters in Perth.

He also mentioned that he is no longer competing for a place in Australia’s playing eleven, expressing his excitement to savor the joys of cricket. Marsh emphasized the team’s depth of talent and expressed confidence in the players selected for the job at hand.

Recently traded to Royal Challengers Bangalore from Mumbai Indians for INR 17.5 crore, Green will continue his cricketing journey. In contrast, Marsh is set to be a key player for the Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024.
