LARAMIE – The Rock Springs Tigers’ passing attack proved to be the winning factor in their first road victory of the year against the Laramie Plainsmen, edging them 21-14 on Friday night.

Explosive Plays Made the Difference
While running the ball is typically crucial for winning football games, the Tigers faced difficulties in their rushing game during this victory. Instead, they relied on their passing game to produce explosive plays.
Laramie, on the other hand, struggled to make those big plays that could have put them ahead in the game. Whenever they did manage a significant gain, a turnover or penalty would sabotage their drive. Credit must also be given to the Tigers’ secondary, which performed admirably and disrupted numerous passes.
With their passing attack and ability to get their playmakers in open space, the Tigers have established themselves as a dangerous team late in the season. Explosive plays have played an instrumental role in their three victories thus far, and they will need to continue creating those game-changing moments in both their upcoming game and the postseason.
Another noteworthy aspect of tonight’s game was the team’s composure. Rock Springs didn’t pick up their first down until halfway through the second quarter. Such a situation can be tough to handle when things aren’t going your way. However, as we’ve witnessed throughout the season, the team remained composed and eventually found their rhythm.
Flack’s Game Ball 🏈
Quarterback Michael Faigl receives his second game ball of the season following an impressive performance.
Despite a slow offensive start for the Tigers, Faigl carried the team on his shoulders late in the first half with an outstanding touchdown throw to tie the game at halftime.
Momentum continued in the second half as Faigl relied on his ability to extend plays with his feet and make deep throws. He finished the night with three passing touchdowns, contributing to another victory for the Tigers. It’s always a delight to watch his approach to the quarterback position, and when he’s on fire, he’s virtually unstoppable.
Keep up the excellent work, kid!

Next week, Rock Springs will have a fantastic chance to continue their momentum against Cheyenne Central at home before entering the postseason. This team has established a strong identity, and it’s evident how their win streak has boosted their confidence.
