Mohamed Salah breaks Thierry Henry’s 17-year record with late Liverpool goal vs Toulouse

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah made a late appearance from the bench as Liverpool easily defeated Toulouse in the Europa League. Despite the result being almost certain, Salah managed to score a significant goal, breaking Thierry Henry’s record that had stood for 17 years. Henry had scored 42 European goals for Arsenal before retiring in 2006. Salah, on the other hand, has now surpassed that record with his second Europa League goal this season, adding to his 41 Champions League goals for Liverpool.

Salah’s first European goal this season came in a victory against LASK, and he followed it up with another impressive performance against Toulouse, where Diogo Jota, Wataru Endo, Darwin Nunez, and Ryan Gravenberch also found the net. Liverpool’s manager, Jurgen Klopp, expressed his excitement about the team’s performance, acknowledging the need for improvement but praising the promising signs.

In addition to the senior players, Klopp also gave opportunities to some of Liverpool’s academy players, including Luke Chambers, Callum Scanlon, Jarell Quansah, and James McConnell. Klopp emphasized the importance of giving these young players a chance to showcase their abilities.

Liverpool’s next match is against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, followed by games against Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup and Luton in the league. Their next European fixture will be against Toulouse.
