Men’s Basketball Continues Cayman Islands Classic Against Loyola Marymount

GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands – The Golden Grizzlies men’s basketball team is set to face off against Loyola Marymount on the consolation side of the bracket as part of the Cayman Islands Classic. This exciting event, featuring eight teams including Oakland, Drake, Loyola Marymount, and others, is scheduled from Nov. 19-21. The tournament will be broadcast live on FloHoops and The Bet1270 AM, with Neal Ruhl on the call for Oakland games on WXYT-AM.

The team suffered a close loss to the Drake Bulldogs, putting them on the consolation side of the bracket. Despite a valiant effort, the Golden Grizzlies fell short in a game that saw Rocket Watts and Trey Townsend stepping up for the team.

Oakland will now face the Lions for the first time in school history. As for Loyola Marymount, the team is coming off a tough loss to Stephen F. Austin after an impressive start to the season, led by fifth-year guard Justice Hill.
