Marc Stein can’t see Klay Thompson leaving Warriors in NBA free agency – NBC Sports Bay Area & California

Golden State Warriors player Klay Thompson did not sign a contract extension before the 2023-24 NBA season. Consequently, it is likely that he will be a free agent in June unless an in-season agreement is reached. However, the general consensus is that Thompson is not likely to leave the Warriors. NBC Sports Bay Area contributor Marc Stein, in a segment on “Warriors Pregame Live,” expressed this sentiment by mentioning Klay Thompson’s father, Mychal Thompson, who confidently affirms that his son is not going anywhere.

Although reports indicated a stalemate in Thompson’s contract negotiations, the CEO of the Golden State Warriors, Joe Lacob, remains optimistic that an agreement will eventually be reached. Klay Thompson is reported to be averaging 16.1 points per game early in the season. Howeever, it is unknown whether his contract negotiations are the cause of his performance. The prevalent belief among various NBA circles seems to be that Klay Thompson’s future is with the Golden State Warriors.
