Bryce James, the youngest son of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, recently received a scholarship offer from Ohio State after his unofficial visit to the school. He was seen talking to Ohio State basketball coach Chris Holtmann on the sidelines before the Buckeyes’ football game against Maryland.
According to the 247Sports 2025 recruiting rankings, Bryce James is a three-star prospect. Currently, the only other scholarship offer he has is from Duquesne in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The 6-foot-4 shooting guard recently transferred from Sierra Canyon High School in Los Angeles to Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California for his junior season.
LeBron James, who grew up in Akron, Ohio and attended St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, has a strong connection to Ohio State. The university is located less than two hours away from his hometown, making it a potentially attractive option for Bryce James.
Last fall, Bryce’s older brother Bronny James also visited Ohio State before eventually committing to USC. Bronny is currently rehabbing from a cardiac arrest that occurred during preseason practice. His collapse led to the discovery of a congenital heart defect.
