Latest Update on Dalton Knecht’s Injury as Tennessee Basketball Prepares to Host George Mason

Dalton Knecht has sustained a left ankle injury and is listed as day-to-day for Tennessee basketball, according to a UT spokesperson.

Known as Tennessee’s top scorer, the Northern Colorado transfer, Knecht, is averaging 20.3 points and has a 40.5% success rate from 3-point range. With the Vols possessing a 4-3 record, they are gearing up to play against George Mason (7-1) on Tuesday at Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center.

Knecht’s impressive 37-point performance was evident in Tennessee’s loss at North Carolina, before leaving with 1:39 to play. This tied the record for the most points scored by a visiting player in the Dean Smith Center.

Dalton Knecht’s Status for Tennessee Basketball

In a valiant effort, Knecht managed to close the wide scoring gap during Tennessee’s 100-92 loss in the inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge. However, his injury occurred while driving to the hoop in the second half against the Tar Heels.

Additionally, forward Tobe Awaka (ankle) and guard Freddie Dilione V (foot) were injured and did not play in the Tar Heels match. Both players are diligently recovering.
