Exciting news from Shamrock Motorsports as they announce Landon Huffman as the driver for the #98 modified, marking the beginning of a multi-year commitment. Huffman will compete on both the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and Southern Modified Auto Racing Teams (SMART) Tour starting in 2024.
Additionally, Shamrock Motorsports has established an alliance with Huffman Racing to base the modified race team at the Huffman Racing shop in Claremont, NC.
Landon Huffman, the 2022 NASCAR Weekly Series champion at Hickory Motor Speedway and a full-time participant in the CARS Late Model Stock Tour, joins Shamrock Motorsports to broaden his racing program to include modifieds.
In his own words, Landon Huffman expressed his gratitude to the Hanney family for the opportunity to drive the #98 in 2024, citing that this unique opportunity will help him progress in his driving career. He looks forward to collaborating with his new team to establish a promising and successful race team.

Shamrock Motorsports, a budding family team, is set to bring back the #98 to the track from the late 1960s. Owners Justin and Ernie Hanney from Shoreline, WA, aim for a part-time schedule on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and SMART Tour in 2024 with the goal of switching to a full-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour schedule in subsequent seasons.
Justin Hanney is eager to welcome Landon Huffman to Shamrock Motorsports, acknowledging his potential as a formidable driver in the modified and expressing excitement at the prospect of him contributing to the building of a championship-winning team.
Shamrock Motorsports intends to participate in up to 10 races in 2024 across both the NASCAR Whelen Modified and SMART tours while Landon Huffman remains a contender in the full CARS Late Model Stock tour. Further details will be provided once all 2024 schedules are released. The anticipated debut for Huffman and Shamrock Motorsports is set for the 2024 World Series of Asphalt at New Smyrna Speedway.
