Chicago Blackhawks player
Connor Bedard is already leaving a lasting impression on young hockey fans across the nation.
During a game against the Florida Panthers, Bedard noticed a kid holding up a sign against the glass that read, “Bedard, I want to be just like you.”
He skated over, flipped a puck into the crowd where the young fan was standing, and then pointed to ensure that the souvenir ended up in the right hands.
The look of astonishment on the kid’s face as Bedard skated away was priceless.
Not only did he make a young fan’s day, but Bedard also put on an incredible performance during the game, scoring two breathtaking goals to keep his team in the match. Despite the Blackhawks’ 4-3 loss to the Panthers, Bedard made history by becoming the
youngest player in NHL history with consecutive multi-goal games, according to NBC Sports Chicago’s Chris Kamka.
Currently leading all rookies in goals (nine) and points (13), as well as all Blackhawks skaters in those two categories, Bedard seems to have found his stride after a strong performance with nine points (seven goals, two assists) in his last six games.
“You can see the game is starting to slow down for him, which is scary,” said Blackhawks veteran forward Nick Foligno.
