Join the Festivities at Springfield’s 29th Annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day!

Join us for the 29th annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk in downtown Springfield! The Developmental Center of the Ozarks (DCO) and the Springfield-Greene County Park Board’s Youth Recreation Scholarship Fund are proud partners of this event. In addition to the race, Turkey Trot also serves as one of the largest food drives of the year for Ozarks Food Harvest.

When you participate, you can also register on-site and bring five nonperishable food items for Ozarks Food Harvest. According to Jordan Browning, these donations are crucial for the community, especially since the organization is currently feeding more than 70,000 people each month – 20,000 more than during the height of the pandemic.

Browning stressed the need for canned food items, particularly protein items like canned tuna and chicken, as they are some of the most expensive items for the organization to source. If you’re thinking of donating, please choose items that are not near expiration.

Packet pick-up is available on race day from 6-7:15 a.m. at the Springfield Expo Center, and registration is still open, even on the event day. The full price registration is $35 for adults and $30 for kids 12 and under. For more details, visit the Turkey Trot page on the Park Board’s website.
