Jennie-O float to host Paul Russell singing ‘Lil Boo Thang’ in Macy’s Parade – West Central Tribune

The producers of the Jennie-O brand are making a strong comeback to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, featuring the rising star Paul Russell performing live from The Big Turkey Spectacular float, the company announced on Thursday.

This year marks the fourth consecutive appearance of the Jennie-O float at the parade, which will be broadcast live to millions of viewers on Thanksgiving morning. The turkey company’s official website, Jennie-O brand, has more details.

Paul Russell is set to make his debut at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, performing his chart-topping viral hit “Lil Boo Thang” atop the Jennie-O float. His social media sensation lifted him from obscurity to headliner status, making his performance at the parade a dream come true.

“Such a dream come true to perform on a float. I can’t wait,” said Russell in a statement released by the Jennie-O Turkey Store.

Jennie-O’s Big Turkey Spectacular float, which debuted in the parade in 2020, is 36 feet long, 25 feet wide, and 24 feet tall. Adorned in the signature gold and green hues of the Jennie-O brand, the glittering float holds more than 200 pounds of sparkles.

Notable features of the float include turkey tail feathers that span 25 feet in width and rise two stories tall. An element of surprise and delight is added by an advanced motion-activated top hat that reveals baby turkeys referred to as poults.

For years, Jennie-O has featured musical artists at the parade, including Bebe Rexha, Tai Verdes, and Paula Abdul in the past.

For real-time support, consumers can reach out to Jennie-O’s consumer-engagement experts through various methods including live chat on the brand’s website and by texting “Turkey” to 73876. The brand specialists will be available around-the-clock until Nov. 28.

The 97th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will be aired on NBC and streamed on Peacock on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023, at 7:30 a.m. CST. Visit macys.com/parade for more information and follow @macys on various social platforms using the hashtag #MacysParade.
