It’s time for the Bucks to admit defeat on Adrian Griffin

The Milwaukee Bucks are currently not performing up to par. At 6-4, their 21st rank in Cleaning the Glass’ net rating at -3.6 points per 100 possessions is less than impressive. Damian Lillard’s absence in a few games has also been felt despite their wins. Several close victories and blowout losses have shown that they are not performing like a good team should, which is a stark difference from their previous success over the past five years.

Despite a few personnel changes such as Damian Lillard replacing Jrue Holiday, the Bucks still have the core of their team intact. But where they seem to be failing is the hiring of their head coach, Adrian Griffin, who is off to a shaky start. With an aging team, the Bucks cannot afford to invest time in coaching development, and they may have made a mistake in hiring a first-time head coach, especially given the existing championship window they have.

The beginning of Griffin’s tenure was abrupt, with the unexpected departure of lead assistant Terry Stotts, leaving a sense of disarray. Many questions still loom about the reasons behind this decision, making the situation appear rather bizarre from an outsider’s perspective.
