The 2024 MLB season is approaching, and the San Francisco Giants’ coaching staff is taking shape under the leadership of new manager Bob Melvin.

On Friday, the Giants officially unveiled their new coaching hires for the upcoming season, including familiar faces and standout additions.

Matt Williams, a former Giants third baseman, is set to join the coaching staff as the team’s third base coach. A recent interview with NBC Sports Bay Area’s Laura Britt revealed his return to the Giants organization. Williams’ stellar playing career with the Giants, including All-Star, Gold Glove, and Silver Slugger honors, brings a wealth of experience to the coaching role.

Additionally, Pat Burrell, a former Giants outfielder and World Series champion, will take on the role of hitting coach. Furthermore, the coaching lineup includes the return of Justin Viele and Pedro Guerrero in coaching capacities.

The coaching roster also includes Ryan Christenson as Melvin’s bench coach and several returning coaches from the previous season. Notably, Mark Hallberg’s shift to first base coach and the return of Alyssa Nakken symbolize the continuity within the staff.
