Get Ready for the B1G Season Tip-Off in College Basketball Tonight

Recap: Minnesota Golden Gophers dominate New Orleans Privateers 97-64

TGD. Total Gopher Domination.

The Gophers only had 12 turnovers, with 3 coming late in the game from reserve Jack Wilson. This limited New Orleans’ ability to score in transition. Add in the Privateers’ 1 of 11 shooting from three, and the Gophers’ dominance in the paint, and it’s no surprise Minnesota came out on top. Freshman guard Cam Christie made a big impact off the bench with 20 points.

As conference season begins, it’s a chance for teams to prove themselves despite non-conference performances not mattering much. The competition is about to get harder, but teams can turn things around in conference play, just like Purdue did in the 2014-15 season.

Preview: #53 Maryland Terrapins vs. #58 Indiana Hoosiers (-3.5), 6 pm, BTN

Maryland and Indiana haven’t lived up to expectations this season. Both teams have struggled with shooting from the outside, but Maryland has been better defensively and on the boards. Indiana has an advantage in interior scoring, but they need to find their outside game to secure a win.

Preview: #1 Purdue Boilermakers vs. #48 Northwestern Wildcats (+6.5), 8 pm, BTN

Purdue has been on fire this season, ranking highly in offense and defense. Northwestern has the potential to disrupt Purdue’s offense, and they’ve beaten them before. This game will test Purdue’s ability to perform on the road. Despite the challenges, Purdue remains the favorite in this matchup.
