With an unblemished 8-0 record and November fast approaching, Ohio State faces the truest test of the season. Former head coach Jim Tressel once stated, “September is for pretenders, November is for contenders.” While the Buckeyes are guaranteed a winning record for the 2023 season, the next few weeks will determine their championship aspirations.

Ohio State’s journey to Camp Randall Stadium marked their first visit since 2016, and they emerged victorious against a determined Wisconsin team with a 24-10 win. Coach Luke Fickell’s Badgers, now 5-3 on the season, find themselves in a four-way tie for leadership in The Big Ten West Division alongside Iowa, Minnesota, and Nebraska.

Despite the win, Ohio State’s coaches, players, and fans remain frustrated because the victory could have been more secure. With only a 10-3 lead at halftime, the Buckeyes squandered multiple scoring opportunities due to self-inflicted mistakes. Luckily for Ohio State, Wisconsin failed to capitalize on those mistakes.
