Exclusive: See Marc Marquez’s Debut on Ducati MotoGP Bike!

With his debut in 2012 at the Valencia test, the eight-time world champion made his entry into the MotoGP arena as the title winner of Moto2.

Spending 11 seasons with Honda, he dominated the MotoGP circuit, securing 59 grands prix wins and six world titles from 2013 to 2019.

However, his career took a hit after a severe right arm injury at the 2020 Spanish Grand Prix. His struggle was compounded by the lack of competitiveness in the Honda team, resulting in a steep decline in performance in 2023.

His disappointing 2023 season, marked by just one podium finish and a record 29 crashes, led to doubts about his future with Honda, culminating in his decision to leave the team a year early and join Gresini to race a year-old Ducati for 2024.

Allowed by Honda to ride the Ducati at the post-season test in Valencia, he took to the track on a blacked-out 2023-spec Gresini Ducati on 28 November.

Due to his contractual situation with Honda, Marquez will not be speaking to the media after the test on Tuesday.

As he makes the move to Gresini, most of his Honda crew will no longer be with him. His new crew chief will be Frankie Carchedi, and, with him, he will bring only tyre technician Javi Ortiz to Gresini.

At the Valencia test, Luca Marini will also debut with Honda, taking over Marquez’s technical crew. Additionally, other riders such as Zarco and Morbidelli will be making significant appearances to mark the changing landscape of MotoGP.
