Eichel’s thirst for Stanley Cup glory reignites with Golden Knights

When it comes to the Vegas team, Eichel shines both on offense and defense. This high-level teamwork takes off some pressure, allowing him to play instinctively and contribute within the structure of the group.

Coach Bruce Cassidy recognizes Eichel’s potential and plans to utilize him more this season. Eichel will have a larger role in the penalty kill, using his strong stick to win face-offs and disrupt plays. Cassidy also wants him to take charge of the power play, increasing its tempo, and to be more aggressive in shooting.

The Golden Knights, the reigning Cup champions, have almost the entire winning roster intact. Their hunger and motivation to win again are unwavering.

Eichel is amazed at the dedication of his teammates, many of whom have won the Cup before. For example, defenseman Alec Martinez won it twice with the Los Angeles Kings, center Chandler Stephenson with the Washington Capitals, and defenseman Alex Pietrangelo and forward Ivan Barbashev with the St. Louis Blues. Their desire to experience that winning feeling again fuels the team’s hunger.
