Bombers Acquire Outfielder Oscar Gonzalez from Cleveland on Waivers

The New York Yankees have made some major adjustments to their roster recently. On December 1, 2:16 p.m., outfielder Oscar Gonzalez was acquired off waivers from the Cleveland Guardians. In his rookie season in 2022, Gonzalez hit .296/.327/.461 with 11 home runs and 43 RBI in 93 games.

On September 29, 4:45 p.m., prior to the series opener against the Kansas City Royals, right-hander Keynan Middleton (shoulder) was reinstated from the injured list, and right-hander Yoendrys Gomez was sent to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Middleton, who was acquired from the Chicago White Sox, has a 0.68 ERA with 17 strikeouts in 13.1 innings pitched since joining the Yankees.

Right-handed pitcher Luke Weaver was added to the active roster and Matt Bowman was sent down on September 14, 5:05 p.m., ahead of Game 2 of the doubleheader in Boston.

Jasson Dominguez has been placed on the 10-day injured list. As a result, outfielder Estevan Florial has been called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Furthermore, right-hander Greg Weissert was recently recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre by the Yankees. Weissert has pitched well this season with a 4.15 ERA and 1.62 WHIP.

It was also announced on September 3, 4 p.m., that the Yankees recalled right-hander Randy Vasquez, catcher Austin Wells, and outfielder Jasson Dominguez from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

On August 30, 1:25 p.m., the Yankees released pitcher Spencer Howard, who had only made three appearances for the team.

Right-hander Greg Weissert was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on August 18, 12:15 p.m., before a series against the Boston Red Sox.

Nick Ramirez was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on August 10, 3:00 p.m. to make room for the right-hander Randy Vasquez’s return to the team. Additionally, Deivi Garcia was claimed off waivers by the Whit Sox.
