The news of Annika Sorenstam’s Augusta National membership has created a buzz in the golf world. She has become the seventh confirmed female member to hold this prestigious honor.
Now that Sorenstam has broken down Augusta National’s door, it makes us wonder who should be the next female member.
When thinking about the numerous LPGA stars who deserve membership at Augusta National, here are four who are worthy of this honor.

- Lopez is another influential woman who deserves her own green jacket. As a 48-time LPGA winner, she was the first notable Latina golfer and paved the way for many to follow in her footsteps.
- Another prominent figure in the LPGA realm is Juli Inkster. From leading the Americans to victory in the Solheim Cup as a captain to her seven major titles and 31 LPGA wins, she is a cornerstone of this sport. Not to mention, Inkster is also influential in giving back to golf.
- Thompson is still actively playing on the LPGA and recently made history by participating in the Shriners Children’s Open on the PGA Tour. As one of the most recognizable names in golf, she is an obvious choice for membership.
Some honorable mentions include Lydia Ko, Danielle Kang, Inbee Park, and even Paige Spiranac for her contribution in raising awareness of the women’s game.
