Tom Kim Emerges as Winner of the 2023 Shriners Children’s Open

Tom Kim emerged victorious at the 2023 Shriners Children’s Open at TPC Summerlin. The South Korean golfer finished at 20 under par, surpassing Adam Hadwin by one stroke. Kim’s clutch shots in the final stretch secured his win and made him the second player this season to successfully defend a tournament, joining world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler.

At 21 years old, Kim also became the youngest three-time winner on the PGA Tour since Tiger Woods. His last victory came at the same venue in Las Vegas a year ago. Despite not winning since then, Kim maintained his high quality of play, with seven top 25 finishes in a row, including a notable runner-up performance at The Open while nursing an injured ankle.

Throughout the tournament, Eric Cole, Ludvig Aberg, and Cameron Champ also showcased exceptional performances. Cole held the clubhouse lead for a significant period, Aberg ended his busy stretch of playing with a strong final round, and Champ displayed determination with a late surge of birdies. However, Si Woo Kim and Lexi Thompson struggled and failed to meet expectations, resulting in disappointing finishes.
