Zachary Levi brings lovable charm to the cute teddy bear character in ‘Teddy’s Christmas’ film

Hollywood actor Zachary Levi, known for his roles in “Chuck” and “Shazam!”, has lent his voice to an adorable animated teddy bear named Teddy in the heartwarming Christmas movie “Teddy’s Christmas”. The Norwegian film from director Andrea Eckerbom follows the story of an eight-year-old girl named Mariann who is captivated by the cute teddy bear on display at a Christmas market carnival booth. When the bear is taken by someone else, Mariann and her brother set out to find Teddy.

During his adventures, Teddy meets a hedgehog toy named Bolla, who helps him understand the true meaning of love, friendship, and the power of cuddling. Levi, who voiced the English version of Teddy in the film, shared that this role presented a unique set of challenges. He expressed his hopes that families who watch the movie will take away the message of “love” from Teddy’s story.

Levi’s interest in voicing Teddy stemmed from his experience as an uncle to three nieces and nephews. He explained that he wanted a family-friendly holiday story that they could enjoy together. Additionally, Levi sees Christmas movies as a genre that becomes part of family traditions, with different films being revisited each year. He hopes that “Teddy’s Christmas” will become a long-standing holiday favorite.

In addition to his holiday traditions, Levi also revealed that his annual gift to his family is a trip to Disneyland. Sharing the significance of this tradition, he said, “I’ll take care of the tickets and the guide,’ and that’s everybody’s Christmas present. … For decades probably now, we go to Disneyland around Christmas and it’s a really special time.”

As an actor, Levi has continually challenged himself by taking on a variety of roles across movies, TV shows, and animated features. He emphasized the importance of stepping away from roles similar to his past character “Chuck”, expressing the need to challenge both himself and his audience. “Teddy’s Christmas” is set for release in theatres on Dec. 1.
