Yankees Starter Fulfill’s Dream After Tough Year: Offseason Triumph

After a terribly disappointing 2023 season, New York Yankees starting pitcher Nestor Cortes is ending his year on a high note. His recent marriage to Alondra G. Esteras Russy was celebrated with a gathering of past and present teammates.

On Saturday, Cortes married Alondra G. Esteras Russy, whom he met at a Miami restaurant back in 2015.

A photo shared on Instagram by music artist El Chulo showed Cortes giving the peace sign surrounded by current and former teammates like Josh Donaldson, Luis Severino, Aroldis Chapman, Anthony Rizzo, Giancarlo Stanton, Gio Urshela, and Gleyber Torres.

Torres also shared a photo on his Instagram Story with him around a table next to Chapman, Urshela, and Severino.

Cortes proposed to Alondra in July 2022 during All-Star Weekend and described it as a dream come true in a post on Instagram.

During an interview, Nestor Cortes expressed his excitement about his upcoming wedding in Miami and Puerto Rico, where he plans to honeymoon. He mentioned that the celebration won’t be long as he’s focusing on preparing for a better 2024 season after a season plagued by ineffectiveness and injuries.

He shared, “We were going to go to Puerto Rico for a month, but I’m going to cut it to a week so I can get back to Miami and focus on my offseason training. I can’t afford to take a month and not do anything,” Cortes said.

There is no confirmation if former President Donald Trump was part of the invitees.
