But Bronzetti has been showcasing her talent on the main tour and should have enough to overcome her compatriot and reach the quarterfinals.

Irina Shymanovich vs Elise Mertens

Elise Mertens, despite a slightly disappointing season, has maintained a top 40 ranking with consistent performances. In the first round, she started slowly against Alexandra Eala but found her rhythm to win the second set without dropping a game. She will need to improve certain aspects of her game when facing Irina Shymanovich, who scored an impressive victory over Laura Pigossi. If Mertens addresses her second serve vulnerability, she should have the edge over the Belarusian.
