WNBA, Las Vegas Aces Silent After Clay Travis Issues Boys High School Challenge – OutKick

It’s been 24 hours since Clay Travis issued a challenge to the Las Vegas Aces. And so far, there has been no response.

The OutKick founder is challenging the WNBA champions to play a game against a boys’ high school basketball team, with the winner receiving $1 million.

This challenge arose after Aces guard Chelsea Gray called Clay a “dumbass” for claiming that a good high school boys team could defeat the best team in the WNBA.

OutKick reached out to both the Aces and the WNBA for comment but has not received a response.

However, Clay’s offer still stands. If the Aces lose, they will have to donate $1 million to the boys’ high school team. But if the Aces win, they will receive $1 million from Clay’s own money.

In fact, Clay is even considering putting the game on pay per view if the Aces agree to play. He believes that the game could generate more revenue than the entire WNBA makes in a year, making it the most popular WNBA game ever.

The idea has received a lot of interest from sports fans.

However, some people were not thrilled with the proposal.

“Y’all really leveraged women’s sports as an opportunity to be transphobic. Embarrassing,” Ballsack Sports posted on X. “Stop tearing women’s sports down for engagement.”

Clay refuted these claims and apologized for not having the “esteemed ethics of Ballsack Sports.”

There were also accusations of sexism, but OutKick’s Riley Gaines defended Clay’s argument. She emphasized that women are not inferior to men, but they are different. She mentioned the time when the FC Dallas U-15 boys’ soccer team defeated the US Women’s National Team in a scrimmage.

Clay is backing up his statement with a tangible offer, but it is unlikely that the WNBA or the Aces will accept it. It’s a lose-lose situation for them. If they lose, it would be a blow to women’s basketball. If they win, they can’t boast about defeating a high school team.

However, $1 million would be a nice bonus.
