Jaylon Moore’s performance at left tackle during the 49ers’ current three-game losing streak, with Trent Williams out due to injury, has been a silver lining for the team.
Trent Williams recently lauded Moore’s progress during the first-team duty, expressing how impressed he is with his performance and progress from the previous year to present. Williams showed confidence in Moore’s ability to handle the position effectively if called upon again in the future.
General manager John Lynch also commended Moore’s development and versatility, highlighting the value he brings to the 49ers’ offensive line with his ability to play multiple positions.
Moore has excelled in pass protection, allowing only three total pressures on 74 pass-blocking snaps in his recent starts at left tackle.
While Williams’ status for Sunday’s clash is uncertain, Moore’s recent performance gives San Francisco confidence they won’t have to rush their star offensive lineman back if he’s not yet ready to return.
