The Chicago White Sox have announced a new addition to their team, naming Paul Janish as the director of player development. This move comes as the organization continues to make significant changes to their front office and development system.
Janish, a former Major League Baseball player, brings a wealth of experience to the role. He played in the MLB from 2008-2017, representing the Cincinnati Reds, Atlanta Braves, and Baltimore Orioles. Janish was drafted in the fifth round of the 2004 MLB draft from Rice University, making his debut four years later with the Reds.
The White Sox have been proactive in reshaping their front office this offseason, making multiple hires. In addition to Janish, they have appointed Josh Barfield as the assistant general manager, Brian Bannister as the director of pitching, and Gene Watson as the director of player personnel.
White Sox general manager, Getz, expressed excitement about Janish’s addition to the organization, highlighting his extensive experience both as a player and coach. Getz mentioned Janish’s championship-winning college career, MLB tenure, and coaching success at Rice University.
