Memphis Tigers basketball has been ranked No. 32 in KenPom’s preseason rankings, showcasing their potential for the upcoming season.
Under the leadership of Coach Penny Hardaway, the Tigers are poised for success. They were ranked 20th in KenPom’s final rankings last season and are expected to continue their strong performance this year.

In the previous season, the Tigers achieved a record of 26-9 and secured a spot in the NCAA tournament. Unfortunately, they were eliminated in the first round by FAU. This year, FAU has been predicted as the conference favorite and is ranked 37th in KenPom’s preseason rankings as they join the AAC for the first time.
KenPom’s projections, utilizing comprehensive data and intricate algorithms, suggest that Memphis will be favored in all but three games this season. The Tigers may face challenges when playing against Missouri (Nov. 10), Texas A&M (Dec. 10), and FAU (March 9).
Despite a demanding nonconference schedule, the Tigers are expected to perform well, with a projected overall record of 22-7 (14-4 in the AAC). It’s important to note that KenPom only factors in the first game of a multi-team event, leading to a projection two games short of the full season.
