We’ve got our work cut out for us now

Despite facing challenges throughout the race and experiencing setbacks during pit stops, Chris Buescher managed to secure a commendable 11th place finish.

Unfortunately, all seven of the other playoff drivers finished ahead of him, including Kyle Larson, who not only won the race but also became the first driver to secure a position in the Championship 4.

As a result, Buescher now finds himself in eighth place in the playoff standings, trailing Denny Hamlin by 23 points. Hamlin currently holds the fourth and final transfer spot with two races remaining to qualify.

“We found ourselves falling back due to the turbulent air, making it quite challenging for us,” Buescher stated. “We were hoping for longer runs and green flag cycles to improve our performance, but unfortunately, it didn’t work out that way.

“Nonetheless, we managed to salvage a decent finish out of the day.”

Buescher also commented on the pit road issues, saying, “It’s tough to regain lost spots on the track. The pit box was incredibly slippery today, which made it even more difficult.

“We lost a significant number of positions, and it was a struggle to regain them. Our work is definitely cut out for us now.”

While Chris Buescher and his RFK Racing team encountered difficulties throughout the race, their teammate and co-owner Brad Keselowski had a strong performance. Keselowski finished in the top-10 in both stages and was in contention for the win at times, leading five times for 38 laps.

However, Keselowski’s playoff run came to an end after the race at the Charlotte Roval last weekend.

“There will be plenty to learn from Brad’s performance,” Buescher remarked. “We have a collaborative approach, constantly sharing information between our teams.

“We’ll use that knowledge to improve for the upcoming week.”
