CHILLICOTHE − The Westfall Mustangs girls golf team wrapped up their season this past weekend, earning a tie for seventh place overall as a team in the OHSAA Division II state tournament held at the Ohio State University Golf Club.
Over the span of two days, the Mustangs accumulated a total score of 737, which placed them in a tie with Colonel Crawford for seventh place in the overall rankings.
Paige Weiss had an outstanding performance and was honored with All-Ohio First Team recognition. Weiss achieved a combined score of 153, tying her with Sammi Miller of Garaway for fourth place in the individual rankings.
Marianna Packer secured a tie for 48th place overall after scoring a combined 191 over the two-day tournament, while Caroline Sever finished in 50th place with a score of 192. Michelle Pickett tied for 58th place with a score of 203, and Alexa Oney claimed 67th place with a score of 213.
In the Division II boys tournament, Unioto’s Charlie Lewis excelled as an individual participant. After scoring an 83 on the first day and ranking 26th overall, Lewis improved his performance in the second round, shooting a 74. This allowed him to finish the tournament with an overall score of 157, tying him for 18th place with Matthew Fang of Columbus Academy.
