Warriors’ Steph Curry reveals Mount Rushmore of favorite non-NBA athletes – NBC Sports Bay Area & California

Steph Curry is not only an all-time great in the NBA, but outside of the court, he is an avid sports fan who enjoys following players and teams across various sports.

In a recent episode of “Dubs Talk,” Curry chatted with NBC Sports Bay Area’s Monte Poole and Dalton Johnson and shared the athletes he considers his favorites outside of the NBA.

“Mount Rushmore of my non-NBA players,” Curry mentioned thoughtfully. “My list is very personal. I am a fan, too. So, I’m going to go with Tiger [Woods]. I’ll include Manny Ramirez and a Siamese twin-head of David [Ortiz] and Manny. Along with Cam Newton and Steve Smith. And of course, Muhammad Ali.”

Curry’s top picks are Woods, Ramirez and Ortiz, Newton and Smith, and Ali.

While he acknowledges that his choices may be biased, the Golden State Warriors legend stands by them.

“I have two mostly undisputed goats,” shared Curry. “And then my fandom coming out with the [Boston] Red Sox and the [Carolina] Panthers.”

Curry’s support for the Panthers’ Newton and Smith comes from growing up in Charlotte. He also holds a deep admiration for the rich history of the Red Sox, which explains his fondness for Ortiz and Ramirez.

As a fan of both athletes revered as the greatest in their respective sports, Curry shows great appreciation for the late boxing icon Muhammad Ali and the enduring golf superstar Tiger Woods.

Tiger’s journey is particularly inspiring for Curry, who is a passionate golfer himself and arguably the NBA’s best player.

While Curry is famed for his shooting prowess on the basketball court, his dedication to his favorite athletes is equally unrivaled.
