Josh McDaniels is accomplishing something remarkable. He’s not just winning, he’s bringing Raider fans together in an unprecedented way.
This week, the fan base is uniting to show appreciation for Warren Sapp, who recently appeared on the What The Football Podcast with former Raiders executive Amy Trask. Sapp shared his candid thoughts on the current issues plaguing the Raiders…
“We have the wrong person leading the team,” Sapp stated.
“We’re trying to implement something that is no longer effective. The ‘Patriot Way’ is dead, even Bill Belichick acknowledges it. Josh McDaniels is attempting to recreate something he’s not qualified for. He’s not Bill Belichick. We saw this unfold in Denver when he drafted Tim Tebow and ran the Broncos into the ground. He’s going to do the same to the Raiders. As Maya Angelou once said, ‘When someone shows you who they are the first time, believe them.'”
As a side note, Sapp mentioned that he still keeps in touch with Jon Gruden and that Gruden is doing well.
“He’s just sitting in the lab,” Sapp said of his former head coach. “He’s there watching the tape, being more critical than ever. He’s fired up about football but I believe he’s in a good place right now.”
Sapp also expressed his belief that Gruden will soon receive a decision regarding his lawsuit against the NFL, which will undoubtedly be an intriguing development.
Regardless of the outcome of Gruden’s legal issues, it’s likely that he will find his way back to coaching again.
