Nick Saban is widely regarded as the greatest college football coach of all time, leading the Alabama dynasty for the past 15 years. However, Urban Meyer holds a different opinion on the best coach in college football.
The title doesn’t belong to Kirby Smart, the Georgia Bulldogs’ leader, who has won the last two national championships.
It’s also not Dabo Swinney, who has faced some challenges despite winning two titles.
So who does Urban Meyer, a three-time national championship-winning head coach, consider the best coach in college football?
It’s the man who succeeded him at Utah: Kyle Whittingham.
Urban Meyer believes Kyle Whittingham is the best coach in college football:
“I’ve said many times Kyle Whittingham’s one of the best coaches in college football. Now he’s the best. He’s the best coach in college football.”

Whittingham and Utah, like Notre Dame, both won their last games against USC.
While I can’t say for certain if Whittingham is the best, he consistently leads the Utes to contend for the Pac-12 championship and maximizes the potential of his team every year.
