UFC Shanghai moved from China, now targeted for Las Vegas

UFC Shanghai undergoes a change as UFC Fight Night 233 switches to the UFC Apex in Las Vegas for reasons that are currently undisclosed. The originally scheduled event was meant to take place on December 9 in China, but it will now move to Las Vegas. The decision was brought to light by two individuals familiar with the move, although the UFC has yet to make an official announcement.

The move was also revealed by MMA manager Shu Hirata on the social media platform X, previously known as Twitter. As a result of the change, the scheduled Road to UFC fights will no longer be a part of the December 9 event.

There are no public details about a rescheduled date for these fights. Additionally, it is uncertain whether the switch of locations will affect any other planned bouts for this event. Given that numerous Asia-based fighters were scheduled to participate, travel issues may arise.

The current UFC Fight Night lineup for December 9 includes the following matchups:

  • Chris Gutierrrez vs. Song Yadong

  • Andre Muniz vs. Jun Yong Park

  • Nasrat Haqparast vs. Jamie Mullarkey

  • Carlos Hernandez vs. Tatsuro Taira

  • Brendson Ribeiro vs. Mingyang Zhang

  • Su Mudaerji vs. Allan Nascimento

  • Hyun Sung Park vs. Shannon Ross

  • Kevin Jousset vs. Song Kenan
