Tyson Chartier’s frequent visits to Las Vegas have greatly benefited his team.
The head honcho of the New England Cartel, Chartier, and his squad have traveled to Vegas on numerous occasions, most recently for Connor Matthews’ Dana White’s Contender Series win earlier this month.
While in Vegas, Chartier and his team, which includes top contenders Calvin Kattar and Rob Font, also make a pit stop at Xtreme Couture to train with head coach Eric Nicksick and his fighters.
“It’s excellent for cross-training,” Chartier told MMA Junkie Radio. “Then you have guys like Nicksick who are incredibly welcoming, saying, ‘Yeah, come into our gym, use it however you want.’ So, it’s been amazing because the gyms out here are thriving. You have a lot of fighters who make it to the UFC and then move out here to train either at Syndicate or Xtreme Couture, so it’s beneficial for the gyms here.
“But it’s also beneficial for us, who come here and want to train with these gyms. So, we get the perks of the Performance Institute where you basically pay for your plane ticket and get a hotel or an Air BnB, and you get to train at the PI all week. The fighters don’t have to pay for that; they receive free food, free supplements, free physical therapy, and they get to cross-train with some of the best fighters in the world.”
