Liverpool endured a stunning 3-2 defeat against French side Toulouse in the Europa League Group E. The English team was denied a potential tying goal in the dying moments of added time, adding to the drama of the match.
Toulouse took the lead after 36 minutes when Aron Donnum intercepted the ball in midfield, charged into the box, and netted a deflected shot. Thijs Dallinga then doubled the advantage in the 58th minute, putting Liverpool on the back foot.

Liverpool managed to pull one back in the 73rd minute with an own goal from Cristian Casseres, only for Frank Magri to restore Toulouse’s two-goal lead three minutes later. Diogo Jota injected hope into the Premier League side with a skillful finish into the bottom corner.
Luis Diaz, who had a tumultuous day after his father’s release from kidnappers, started the match but was substituted for Jota. Liverpool thought they had secured a draw as Jarell Quansah found the net in stoppage time, but VAR disallowed it due to a handball by Alexis Mac Allister earlier in the move.
“We scored a third one, I think it was a goal 100%. It was pretty long ago the ball was in a tricky situation, I am not even sure it just the hand at all but that is how it is,” Klopp said.
“With all the possession you have obviously you should create more but you cannot concede three goals here, that makes no sense.”
Klopp’s interview was interrupted by boisterous cheers and screaming by celebrating Toulouse supporters.
“We were as organised as this press conference — pretty chaotic,” the German said. “Who had the idea to do the press conference here?”
Liverpool remained top of Group E, two points ahead of Toulouse.
