Toledo routed Adna in the 2B Central-South Football match

Toledo Dominates Adna in Senior Night Victory

Toledo High School’s dominant running game propelled them to a victory over Adna on senior night, showcasing their unbeatable record on their home turf for the past four years. Head coach Mike Christensen praised the seniors’ leadership and dedication to the program.

The game saw Toledo amass an impressive 474 rushing yards, with senior Ethen Carver leading the charge, accumulating an astounding 314 yards rushing and scoring four touchdowns. Carver’s speed and athleticism were praised by Christensen, attributing his success to the strong offensive line’s exceptional blocking.

Christensen highlighted the contributions of the entire offensive line, including Alex Vazquez, Bayron Rodriguez, Gabe Gabrera, Nico Acosta, and Leland McCree. He also commended tight end Ethan Brooks and fellow senior Jake Nef for their exemplary blocking.

Toledo’s early lead of 21-0 in the first quarter, fueled by two touchdowns from Carver and one from Nef, set the tone for the game. Adna managed to score in the second quarter, reducing the deficit to 21-7. However, Carver’s 43-yard touchdown run in the third quarter widened the gap. Adna struggled to convert on their last few possessions, allowing Carver to add another long run for a score in the fourth quarter.

Toledo now looks ahead to their upcoming matchup against Kalama next Friday in a highly anticipated 2B Central – South contest. The Riverhawks, with a record of 6-1 in the season and 3-1 in the conference, aim to continue their winning streak.
