Titans’ Ryan Tannehill suffers ankle injury, carted off

Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill sustains a right ankle injury and gets carted off the field in Tennessee’s 24-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The incident occurred during the third quarter when Tannehill was sacked by Ravens defensive lineman Justin Madubuike. Despite the injury, Tannehill continues playing until throwing an interception and leaving the game with 4:43 remaining in the third quarter. In his performance, Tannehill completes 8-of-16 passes for 74 yards.

Post-game, Tannehill relies on crutches and announces plans for an MRI upon the Titans’ return home.

“From my observations, it was challenging for him to execute as expected,” comments Titans coach Mike Vrabel. “We contemplated employing different strategies or considering his mobility limitations. Surely, we don’t want to compromise his well-being and ability to defend himself.”

The current injury mirrors Tannehill’s previous absence due to a right ankle injury towards the end of the 2022 season.

Substitute quarterback Malik Willis makes his first pass attempt of the season, throwing a 9-yard completion to Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. However, the Titans are forced to punt on that drive. In the game, Willis completes 4-of-5 passes for 74 yards, gets sacked four times, and accumulates 17 rushing yards on three carries.
