The Latest on Raheem Mostert

You can breathe a sigh of relief, fantasy managers. Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert is expected to play against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

However, there’s a growing possibility that Mostert will be running behind an improvised offensive line. Let’s take a closer look at our latest Dolphins injury report.

The Latest Miami Dolphins Injury News

Mostert returned to practice on Thursday after sitting out on Wednesday due to an ankle injury, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, who accompanied the team to Germany this week.

Tight end Durham Smythe, who also had an ankle injury, returned to practice and is likely to play on Sunday.

However, the situation is not as positive for the offensive line. Even with Terron Armstead returning to practice after missing the last four games with an ankle injury of his own, it remains uncertain if he will be activated from the injured reserve before the Week 9 match in Frankfurt.

Robert Hunt is still in the process of rehabilitating his hamstring injury, which means the Dolphins could be without both guards against a Chiefs defense that currently ranks second in sacks (28) and fourth in pressures (85) as of Week 8.

With left guard Isaiah Wynn out indefinitely, the Dolphins will potentially have to start a combination of Robert Jones, Liam Eichenberg, and Lester Cotton against Kansas City.

This could be a leveling factor against the Chiefs defense, which struggles against the run. They currently have the seventh-worst average yards-per-carry against (4.4) and rank 31st in defensive rush EPA (.016).

On the defensive side, safety Brandon Jones remains out of practice due to a concussion and did not travel with the team to Germany. Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel did not rule out the possibility of Jones joining the team later in the week if his condition improves.
