On Wednesday’s national signing day, Texas volleyball added three new players to the program, with the expectation of a late flip from a player currently committed to Nebraska. This potential move has generated significant attention in the collegiate volleyball world.
Ayden Ames, a 6-foot-4 outside hitter from Prosper, North Texas, recently announced her decision to decommit from Nebraska and commit to Texas. While she couldn’t sign her national letter of intent on Wednesday due to clerical work, her high school program stated back in November that she planned to sign with Texas.

Ranked as the 10th-best prospect in the country by PrepVolleyball, Ames is known for her versatility as an attacker. She was part of the U.S. under-19 national team that won a FIVB World Championship this summer. With impressive stats and a strong performance in the regional-tournament round of the Class 6A state playoffs, Ames brings valuable skills to the Texas team.
Texas coach Jerritt Elliott also welcomed libero Reese Emerick from Westlake High School, setter Rella Moon Binney from Hawaii, and defensive specialist Brennan Ramirez of Waxahachie.
The 5-foot-8 Emerick, an All-Central Texas team member, concluded her successful high school career and achieved a school-record 2,118 digs and 135 aces.

Texas, currently ranked No. 3 with an 18-3 record and a 13-0 mark in the Big 12, will see some players leave at the end of the season. However, the team has already secured commitments from three prospects for the 2025 class, including the nation’s top prospect, outside hitter Macaria Spears, along with local talents Cedar Park libero Callie Krueger and Georgetown outside hitter Addison Gaido.
