HOUSTON – Following a knee injury, Houston Texans rookie starting defensive end Will Anderson Jr. has returned to practice on a limited basis, indicating a positive sign for his availability for the upcoming game against the Cincinnati Bengals and a positive outlook for his recovery.
Anderson sustained a bruise to his knee during Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Despite this setback, the former Alabama standout has impressive statistics, recording 30 tackles, two sacks, three tackles for losses, nine quarterback hits, and 13 pressures.
Additionally, veteran wide receiver Robert Woods has returned to practice on a limited basis following a foot injury, with the goal of playing in the upcoming game. Woods has recorded 22 passes for 227 yards and one touchdown on 43 targets.
On the defensive front, starting linebacker Blake Cashman has also returned to practice after suffering a knee injury, participating on a limited basis.
However, several key players, including the starting running back, wide receiver, kicker, safety, cornerback, tight end, linebacker, and fullback did not practice due to various injuries, with a potential impact on the upcoming game.
It’s not just new injuries that the Texans are dealing with. Offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil is managing a lingering knee injury, further complicating the team’s situation.
Furthermore, cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. is making strides in his recovery from a hamstring injury, with his status for the upcoming game against the Cincinnati Bengals still being determined, adding a layer of uncertainty to the Texans’ situation.
