Tank Dell demands your attention (and your FAB)

Every week, we compile a list of priority fantasy football pickups that are available in at least 50% of Yahoo leagues and are ready to be used immediately. Week 10 presents the challenge of filling roster holes with the Chiefs, Rams, Dolphins, and Eagles all on bye. So, let’s get right to it…

Wide receivers and tight ends

In case you missed it, Tank Dell had an impressive comeback on Sunday. He was a target magnet against Tampa Bay, drawing 11 chances and finishing with six catches for 114 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning score. Dell rarely leaves the field for Houston and has been a reliable receiver for C.J. Stroud since the start of the season. Stroud has a passer rating of 131.3 when targeting him. Dell was dropped by many fantasy managers when he was sidelined with a concussion in Week 6, but it’s time to reintroduce yourself to this rookie. He was incredibly productive in college and has seamlessly transitioned to the NFL. Go pick him up.

Several bottom-of-the-draft-board tight ends had a big day on Sunday, including Otton. He caught six passes for 70 yards and two touchdowns against the Texans, leading the team in targets with nine. Otton rarely comes off the field, playing over 90% of the snaps in every game this season for the Bucs. Last year, he led all rookie tight ends in receptions (42) and targets (65), and ranked sixth in red-zone chances (17). His upcoming matchup against Tennessee is not one to avoid, so consider him a viable option if you have a short-term need. He has seen significant volume in recent weeks and is an up-and-coming player.

Other recommended wide receivers (WRs) and tight ends (TEs):

-The Chargers have been forced to speed up Quentin Johnston’s development with Mike Williams out for the season and Joshua Palmer on injured reserve. The TCU rookie showed promise in a favorable matchup with Chicago in Week 8 (5 receptions for 50 yards). His potential as a dangerous vertical threat is starting to emerge, but we’ve only seen glimpses of it so far. Keep an eye on him.

-Khalil Shakir may have had a relatively quiet night for Buffalo (4 receptions for 57 yards), but he has solidified himself as the team’s No. 3 receiver and has caught 18 of his 19 targets this season.

-Demario Douglas has become the top receiver for New England, but his role may not have weekly value outside of deeper full-point-per-reception (PPR) leagues. Keep an eye on him in those formats.

-Odell Beckham Jr. scored his first touchdown as a member of the Ravens in Week 9 and finished second on the team in targets. Unfortunately, he faces a tough matchup in Week 10 against Cleveland, but there are better matchups ahead.

-Jalen Tolbert may have surpassed Michael Gallup in the Dallas receiving hierarchy. Tolbert found the end zone in Sunday’s loss to Philadelphia and had five targets compared to Gallup’s three.

-Noah Brown had a monster game on Sunday (6 receptions for 153 yards and one touchdown), but his playing time could be affected when Robert Woods returns from injury.

-Cedric Tillman didn’t make much noise in Cleveland’s blowout win over Arizona, but he saw the field more than he has all season and has the potential to become relevant with Donovan Peoples-Jones out.

-Jonnu Smith continues to outscore Kyle Pitts for fantasy purposes. Smith had five receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown in Week 9. He has become an unexpected asset under coach Arthur Smith.

-Hunter Henry saw seven targets and scored a touchdown on Sunday, which is a positive result for a waiver wire tight end.

Quarterbacks

At 34, Teddy Bridgewater hasn’t quite returned to his vintage form for the Broncos, but he has been more productive this season under coach Sean Payton. He has already matched last year’s touchdown total (16), has had five multi-touchdown games, and has a passer rating of 101.7. He is also on pace to rush for over 400 yards, which enhances his fantasy profile. Bridgewater is currently ranked as the overall fantasy QB11 for the year, making him a sneaky useful option during bye weeks or as an injury replacement. His matchup against Buffalo in Week 10 is less than ideal, but he has a series of friendlier opponents following Week 10. Consider him for short-term help.

Josh Dobbs engineered a football miracle on Sunday. After joining the Vikings just days ago at the trade deadline, with little time to practice with the starters or get to know his new teammates, Dobbs led his team to a wild and improbable win. He threw two touchdown passes, ran for another score, and finished with 158 passing yards and 66 rushing yards. His new head coach was impressed. Dobbs hasn’t put up huge passing numbers this season, but he will soon be throwing to talented receivers like Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and T.J. Hockenson, which gives him appeal in deep leagues.

Other recommended quarterbacks (QBs):

-Will Levis didn’t have another four-touchdown pass performance in his second start, but he showed glimpses of talent and looked like a starting-quality NFL quarterback. If he is starting again this week, he could take advantage of Tampa Bay’s vulnerable pass defense.

-Baker Mayfield has had two consecutive games with multiple touchdown passes, and he has a decent chance to do it again in Week 10 against Tennessee. His supporting cast increases his fantasy appeal.

Running backs

Elijah Mitchell had an impressive breakout game on Sunday, carrying the ball nine times for 138 yards and one touchdown as his team dominated the Seahawks. Mitchell is known for his blazing speed (4.3 seconds in the 40-yard dash) and demonstrated it against Seattle’s defense. Although he is undersized at 5-foot-8 and 190 pounds, Mitchell has the skill set to be a dangerous rotational back. He had an impressive college career, averaging 7.2 yards per carry and gaining 1,704 yards from scrimmage in his final season. While the matchup against Cleveland may not be ideal, Mitchell is worth considering for future flex positions.

Two weeks ago, Charbonnet saw his highest snap-share of the season (59%) and had a productive game against a strong Cleveland defense (64 total yards). Pete Carroll has given positive feedback about the UCLA rookie and he had the edge over Kenneth Walker III in snaps and third-down situations. Although neither back did much in the Seahawks’ loss to the Ravens, both Charbonnet and Walker can be started against the Commanders in Week 10. Keep an eye on this committee backfield.

Other recommended running backs (RBs):

-Antonio Gibson had an excellent game on Sunday, finishing with 76 rushing yards and one touchdown.
